A 6.9-magnitude quake in Negros and Cebu rocked 2 Cities panicking thousands of people in streets and in office buildings. According to witnesses people where running in all directions fearing that a tsunami will hit Cebu after the quake. According to few witnesses "People where running from Colon st. to Fuente Osmeña and Lahug seeking for higher grounds". A tsunami alert has been lifted but vigilance should remain, Phivolcs Director Renato Solidum said “People are advised to stay away from the shoreline. People should not go to the coast to watch the tsunami. People whose houses are very near coastal areas of Negros and Cebu islands are strongly advised to be watchful,” Phivolcs earlier warned.
